How much does trade mark monitoring cost in the UK?
TMGuard offers trade mark monitoring from £99/year for one UK trade mark: the UK register is scanned daily, alerts come by email weekly with a risk score, and renewal reminders are included. Business plans add the EU and US registers from £249/year. A Starter plan can add EU monitoring for £99/year or US monitoring for £99/year.
How do I oppose a trade mark in the UK?
You have 2 months from the publication date in the UK Trade Marks Journal to file an opposition. A Notice of Threatened Opposition (TM7A), filed within the two months, is free and extends the window to three months from publication, but only for the person who files it and the companies in its group. Then file a TM7 with your grounds for opposition. The IPO fee is £125 if you rely only on section 5(1)/5(2) grounds, or £250 if you include other grounds. TMGuard tracks the deadline and can pre-fill the forms; it does not advise on whether to oppose.

TMGuard monitors 21.26M trade marks across three official registers: 3.98M UK marks from the IPO (records from 1876), 3.23M EU marks from EUIPO (including 446,888 Madrid Protocol designations), and 14.05M US marks from the USPTO (records from 1875). Can TMGuard monitor trade marks in the US?
Yes. TMGuard monitors the USPTO register with 14.05M marks dating back to 1875. US monitoring is included on Business plans (£249/year) and above, and can be added to a Starter plan for £99/year. In the US, an opposition must be filed within 30 days of publication. The time can be extended: by 30 days on request, to 120 days from publication for good cause, and to 180 days at most only with the applicant's consent or in extraordinary circumstances. Each request must be filed before the current period ends.
